I Missed an Earthquake!

My sister just called and asked if my house was shaking. I said no, why. She told me to turn on the news, that there was an earthquake. I had been sitting here typing up an article for my blog and heard some strange noises coming from the kitchen. I thought someone was rattling my door. I even got up and went into the kitchen to check it out and nothing was there. I guess I did feel it and just didn’t know what it was.

  1. When I was a child in Los Angeles, I always comforted myself that if there was an earthquake, I could scramble under my bed. Then, when I went to Japan, I slept on a futon mat on the floor, and there was an earthquake, and I was terrified, because there was no bed to get under! And it’s just as bad now, because I have a captain’s bed. So for the last few earthquakes, I’ve just laid in bed and been terrified. Such is life! 🙂

    • You should have laid on the floor and pulled the futon over top of you – not quite the same as being under your bed, but it would give you something over you. Last night, one of my older neighbors said that she was sleeping when it happened so now she can tell everyone she slept thru an earthquake.
