10 Things I Couldn’t Live Without

Today’s prompt for Day 13 of the Wego Health Activist Writer’s Challenge is, “10 Things I Couldn’t Live Without. Write a list of the 10 things you need (or love) most.”

Apidra pens and vials1.  Leading the top of that list would be insulin.  I wouldn’t be able to survive if I didn’t have my insulin!

Aviva Boxes2.  After insulin, I also need my test strips.  It is hard to adjust your insulin or treat lows if you have no idea what your blood sugar is.

Pills3.  Thyroid meds.  I know what it is like to have a thyroid that is not functioning very well nor have medicine for it to be optimized.  You feel like crap.  I wouldn’t have much of a life if I didn’t have my thyroid meds.

Itunes4.  Music.  This would be #1 on my list if I didn’t need insulin to stay alive or my thyroid meds to feel like a human being, otherwise I would not be able to enjoy music.  I love listening to music.  Music makes the world go round.

Smarties5.  Smarties.  Have to treat those lows somehow!

Computer6.  My computer.   My computer is my connection to the outside world.  I listen to my music on my computer.   Life would be pretty boring without my computer.

Diabetes Daily and TuDiabetes7.  The DOC.  The DOC has saved my life.  For those of you that don’t know what the DOC is, the DOC is the diabetes online community.

Those are really the only things I can’t live without.  Since we needed 10 things on our list, the last 3 will be things that I love.

8.  My family.  My family helps me a lot but even if they didn’t, I would still keep them!

Alex and Sasha9.  My critters.  There is nothing in the world like doggy hugs and kitty scratches.

10.  My village.  Some might say it is more of an addiction than something I love, but I enjoy putting my village up every year.

  1. Wow, that is one huge container of Smarties – very “smart” to buy them in bulk like that. Love the pictures with your list – I’m still hoping to recover mine from my crabby computer at some point.

    • Karen, the container actually came from cheese curls my sister bought my nephew. I bought a bunch of 1 pound bags of Smarties to fill it up with. I hope your pictures back. Computers are always tempermental at the wrong time!
